Morning, fellow food lover!
I’m Cherise, and this is my blog—a blog unadulteratedly dedicated to breakfast.
My guess is you’re here because you love that inaugural meal of the day as much as I do; the-breaking-of-the-fast that says you’re awake, you’re alive, now let’s get eating.
Which is exactly why I made this blog—so I can spend hours conjuring up random (and amazing, IMO) flavour combos, taking pretty pictures, and sharing the food love.
How’d I Get Here?
I’ve been writing and blogging in various forms since 2010, and typically think about breakfast before I go to bed and before I open my eyes. The logical conclusion, of course, was to combine the two. I also believe food is art, food is love, and food is fun (perhaps my blog should’ve been called Bohemian Breakfasts. Or something).
The name, Morning, Delicious, aside, all the recipes you’ll find here can be eaten at whatever time; the idea of breakfasts is more down to philosophy than any practical category—I love food, I want my kids to love food, and if you eat something glorious first thing in the morning, you’ve set the intention for the rest of the day. (I consider this to be a pretty decent metaphor for everything else, really—life is short, so let’s eat beautiful breakfasts, right?.)
I also possess a potent fear of failure and debilitating desire for instant gratification, which means whatever I decide to make and eat needs to be both ridiculously easy and something my tastebuds go to sleep dreaming about (and wake up for).
So…most of what you find in my little breakfast nook of the internet is pretty laidback and laissez faire. (Think loadsa blitzing in blenders. And no fancy piping. Ever.)
To fully enjoy Morning, Delicious, technical know-how is not a must, a lusty relationship with things that taste fabulous is a prerequisite.
A few of my favourite ingredients are pink sea salt, sweet-roasted pumpkin, chia seeds and chunks, chips, curls and hefty blocks of bittersweet chocolate.
Expect to see a lloooot of that last bit.
I’m a social media junkie, so if I’m not here making breakfast, I’m probably on Instagram, Facebook, or Pinterest—when the kids are asleep, of course….*furtive side-eye*. Follow me for exclusive recipes not on the blog (Secret Society! Secret Society), food tips, and the most delish/craziest culinary videos I’ve found to share. Also loads of Gen X pop culture references somehow shmooshed into gastronomical musings. #sorrynotsorry

Until then, my recipes are right over here.
